The first 12-week on-site bootcamp will be offered at Queens College starting November 14 with another on-site bootcamp planned to open in Manhattan at the School of Professional Studies campus in January 2017. In a multi-campus collaboration, Revature at CUNY will offer the first on-campus coding bootcamp this fall. “Our academic strengths, city and university-wide partnerships, and the fact that we are one of the most diverse campuses in America make Queens College the ideal partner with which to spearhead this important initiative,” said President Matos Rodriguez. Home of the Queens College Tech Incubator and the Tech Talent Pipeline Residency Queens, the College is a critical partner in the city’s and CUNY’s efforts to strengthen and provide the richest talent available to the growing tech field. Known for its academic excellence in the liberal arts, sciences, and education, Queens College also has the largest number of computer science majors of all New York colleges. We are particularly delighted to welcome Queens College as our first campus partner,” she said.

In partnership with Revature, we are able to offer free online and on-site coding programs for CUNY graduates based solely on their ability and interest, not their financial means. Coding bootcamps are helping to narrow the enormous demand for technology professionals in New York and across the country - but are prohibitively expensive and out of reach for many students. “In today’s world, opportunity means tech. “CUNY is committed to supporting equal access to opportunity for all, regardless of background, means, race and gender,” said Ann Kirschner, Special Advisor to the Chancellor for Strategic Partnerships at CUNY.
RevaturePro features free online training programs supporting all levels from beginner to advanced where students can learn Java, Microsoft.NET and other front-end development languages. These courses are designed for both non-technical and advanced students to learn enterprise-level programing skills at their own pace and receive dedicated support from Revature’s industry mentors. The program is expected to train and hire more than 2,000 CUNY graduates over the next five years.ĬUNY will also offer Revature’s custom online course training, RevaturePro, to all current CUNY students and alumni. Students who complete the free training are then employed by Revature and will receive industry certification and continuing education. The 12-week programs, exclusively for CUNY graduates, provide the opportunity to learn the latest enterprise-level, next-generation and niche technology skills at no cost. The City University of New York (CUNY) and Revature, a leading technology talent development company, have announced Revature at CUNY, a strategic partnership to provide free industry-aligned coding bootcamps for CUNY graduates.
